I started Light of Barry Photography because I believe the right photograph can change how someone sees themselves — and I wanted to be the person who creates that moment.

Before photography became my professional focus, I worked in private banking, where I learned that the quality of an experience matters as much as the quality of the work. Discretion, communication, and trust aren't extras — they're the foundation. I later pursued formal training through Alberta Film School to deepen my technical foundation and sharpen my visual approach. My work is shaped by both: polished service and intentional imagery.

Today I focus on headshots, branding images, and portraits for professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives in Calgary who want to look natural, confident, and elevated — without needing to know how to pose.

I direct everything — posing, expression, posture, movement, angles. My job is to make the process feel easy and deliver images that actually look like you at your best.
